Mechanical Engineering Qualifications

• Machine design from concept to detail drawings since 1990.
• Mechanical design experience in pneumatic slides, servo (both rotary and linear) and stepper motors, timing and steel belt drives, lead screws, cams, linear and rotary bearings, linear and rotary encoders, wire and cable management, proximity, fiber optic and laser sensors.
• 8 years experience in field support of equipment in service, requiring both domestic and international travels.
• 26 years mechanical drafting experience from manual board layout to CAD including AutoCAD and Pro-Engineer.
• Share in a US Patent 6,279,225 B1, Apparatus for Handling Packaged IC’s
• 7 years mechanical design experience in cold header forming dies, transfer fingers, feed rolls, screw machine cutting tools, cams, collets, and tool holders.
• 5 years experience in CNC programming for lathes and wire EDM machines.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in ASME Y14.5 1994.
• Statistical Process Control experience and ISO 9000.

Project Management Qualifications

• Experienced in all phases of technical project management from initial scope and justification, to final project closeout and evaluation.
• Proven track record of working closely with customers, engineering, and manufacturing, in the analysis of complex technical requirements to develop creative solutions to meet customers’ needs.

Manufacturing Experience

• Transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing including bill of material structure, process build flow, production tooling and fixtures, test stands, quality measurements, work instructions, training and packaging.
• Process improvement analysis using a wide variety of quality tools including: Process Mapping, Cause and Effect Analysis, FMEA, Perato Analysis, and Fishbone Diagramming.

Electrical/Software Engineering Qualifications

• Design of control systems and electronics for robotic workcells since 1981.
• Experienced in application of off-the-shelf and full custom control components, from microprocessor-based systems to industrial PC-based automation.
• Extensive experience with servo and stepper-based motion control.
• Experienced in design for manufacturability and reliability.
• 20 years software design experience from embedded microprocessors in machine language to PC-based workcell controllers in C++.

• Design of custom circuit boards for servo control, specialized I/O, and user interface.
